Purpose of award: To encourage and support students to enter the field of childhood development or early childhood education.
Eligibility requirements: Applicants and their parents must be legal residents of the state of Maryland, Applicants must enroll at a two- or four-year Maryland college or university as a full-time or part-time degree-seeking undergraduate. Applicants must enter a child development program or an early childhood education program. Applicants must also sign a promissory note agreeing to provide child care services in Maryland at the rate of one year for each year of the award.
