Purpose of award: To support Latino students with career goals in journalism.
Eligibility requirements: Applicants must be Latino and either California residents or be attending California schools. While the students' degree does not have to be in journalism, they muse demonstrate plans to pursue a career in journalism. An interview and autobiographical essay are required. Awards are based also on financial need, academic achievement and a civic responsibility.
