2012-2013 Master Scholarship in Media Studies

Young media specialists, journalism students and journalists from all countries are invited to apply for International Media Studies Master’s Program in Bonn, Germany. The program is sponsored by German Media Group Deutsche Welle, the University of Bonn and other organizations.

Eligibility: students from Africa, Asia, Latin America or Eastern Europe

Financial Assistance/Scholarship: Full scholarships will be awarded to ten applicants from Africa, Asia, Latin America or Eastern Europe

The four-semester, full-time program combines theory with training in practical journalism skills, and covers such topics as media and development, media economics, and communication science. The program ends with a master’s thesis and colloquium. Successful graduates receive a Master of Arts (M.A.) Degree.

Applicants are required to submit the following documents:

* one passport-size photograph

* copy of passport

The following documents (both the copies of the certificates and the translations into German or English) need to be certified :

* academic degree(s) including transcripts

* proof of at least one year’s work experience in the field of media after your degree

If you are an applicant from China, Vietnam and Mongolia you need to submit original Certificate of APS.

Language Requirements

If your first language is not English, you need to provide evidence of your English language skills by submitting one of the following:

* TOEFL : paper-based: score 557 or computer- based: score 220 or internet- based: score 83.

* IELTS : an overall band score of at least 6.0 or

* confirming letter from your previous university, if your first degree course was taught in English.

If your first language is not German and you have not completed a German language degree course, we require one of the following German language proficiency tests for Higher Education:

* DSH level 1

* TestDaF level 3, 3, 3, 3 (www.testdaf.de) or

* Goethe Zertifikat level B2.

CEU Master Scholarships 2012-2013

Central European University (Budapest, Hungary) currently accepts applications for 2012/2013 Master programs in various disciplines (economics, international relations, European studies, gender studies, history, legal studies, political science, etc.). Full and partial study grants are available.

Key admission dates for 2011/2013 Master programs:

- January 25, 2013: For applicants who wish/are required to take the CEU-administered admissions examinations and/or are requesting exemption from the English language proficiency requirement; for all applicants to Legal Studies Department.

- March 16, 2013: For applicants submitting applications complete with language scores and other applicable test scores.

Heinrich Boell Scholarships 2012-2013

The Heinrich Böll Foundation awards scholarships to German and foreign students in keeping with the guidelines provided by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) and the Federal Foreign Office (AA).

Deadline: 01/03/2013

Open to: students who are enrolled at state-recognized institution of higher education in Germany

Funding/scholarship: depends on income and personal assets

Eligibilty: the scholarship is awarded to German and foreign students ( from EU and non-EU countries).

Students, who did not gained their university entrance qualifications from a German school must be already enrolled at a state-recognized university or college (e.g. Fachhochschule) in Germany.

Three stages are involved when the Heinrich Böll Foundation selects applicants for its scholarships:

Stage 2: Interview with a liaison lecturer

Stage 3: Selection workshop

University of Sydney Scholarships

University of Sydney World Scholars

Up to 20 new full tuition fee PhD scholarships are offered per annum for commencing international students. Scholarships cover the full cost of tuition fees for three years. A travel contribution of up to AUD $1,250 each way will also be provided to scholarship holders.

The World Scholars program is for commencing international students from participating countries, undertaking a PhD in any discipline. The application process is highly competitive with scholarships awarded on the basis of research potential and academic merit. Scholarship holders should demonstrate, in their PhD application, an outstanding academic track record and capacity to engage in innovative and world class research.

Each year, the University will invite applications from selected participating countries. For the 2010 intake, these include certain countries in East Asia, Latin America and Western Europe, as well as India, the United States, Canada, South Africa, Kenya, Rwanda and Uganda. Some other countries, including China, already have special scholarship schemes in place at present.

How to apply
The 2010 intake, for students commencing PhD studies in Semester 1 (March) 2011, is now open.

Prospective applicants must have a Firm Offer of Admission to a PhD at the University of Sydney before lodging a World Scholars application. In addition, PhD candidates are expected to have made contact with their potential academic supervisor prior to submitting their application for a PhD.

University of Sydney International Scholarship (USydIS)

The University of Sydney invites candidates who are eligible to undertake a Postgraduate Research Degree or Master's by Research program at this University to apply for the University of Sydney International Research Scholarship (USydIS).

The objective of the USydIS is to attract top quality international postgraduate students to undertake research projects which will enhance the University's research activities. The USydIS is open to all research disciplines, however participation in the USydIS program each semester is at the discretion of the Dean of each faculty. These scholarships will be awarded to eligible applicants twice a year – in October/November in conjunction with the International Postgraduate Research Scholarships (IPRS) for commencement in Semester 1 (March), and in early April for commencement in Semester 2 (July).

The USydIS will cover tuition fees and living allowance for up to three years with a possibility of one semester's extension for PhD students.

Applicants who wish to be considered for the IPRS and USydIS awards for semester 1, may indicate this by completing the relevant section of the Postgraduate Research Application form. To be considered for an award for semester 1, applications for admission to a research degree MUST be received by the International Office by 31 July of the previous year.

To be considered for the USydIS for semester 2, applications for admission to a research degree MUST be received by the International Office by 31 December of the previous year.

Faculty of Arts Postgraduate International Coursework Scholarships

This scholarship will be offered to outstanding international students undertaking a Masters (Coursework) program in the Faculty of Arts at the University of Sydney. These scholarships only cover the tuition fees for the whole degree program in which the applicant is enrolled.

To be considered for an IPCS scholarship, applicants must have an unconditional offer of a place in their chosen program of study in the Faculty of Arts at the University of Sydney.

Scholarships will be available for all postgraduate coursework degree programs in the Faculty of Arts. In the 2010 round of offers, applications for admission to the following degrees will be given priority:

• Master of Arts (History)
• Master of Cultural Studies
• Master of Human Rights
• Master of International Studies
• Master of Media Practice
• Master of Museum Studies
• Master of Translation Studies

To apply you will need to submit a personal statement with your application for admission to a postgraduate coursework degree in Arts. This personal statement should briefly set out your academic and extra-curricular or professional achievements, outline why you want to undertake your chosen course at the University of Sydney, and what you hope to achieve following graduation.

International Postgraduate Research Scholarships (IPRS)

The International Postgraduate Research Scholarships (IPRS) scheme is funded by the Australian Government and provides tuition fees to top quality international postgraduate students who wish to enrol in a research degree at Australian universities.

Applications are assessed on academic merit and research potential. In addition to the IPRS, the University of Sydney awards an International Postgraduate Award (IPA) to IPRS holders. The IPA provides a stipend/living allowance to all IPRS recipients.

The IPRS is available to students commencing in both the March and July Semesters. Students must indicate that they would like to be considered for the IPRS by completing the relevant section of the Postgraduate Research Application form (271kb pdf). To be considered for the award, applications MUST be received by the International Office by:
- 31 July of the previous year for Semester 1 (March) commencement
- 31 December of the previous year for Semester 2 (July) commencement

To be eligible for the IPRS, you must:

• Be an international student commencing full time enrolment in a Higher Degree by Research (HDR) at this University.
  If you commenced your HDR in the previous year, but due to the timing of your application and subsequent enrolment were unable to be considered for an IPRS, you may apply and be considered for an IPRS during the current round of IPRS application.
  Students in this situation should complete the IPRS Special Application Form (112kb pdf). This form MUST be received at the International Office by 31 August of the current year.
• Be a student undertaking study in a subject area identified by the University as within the areas of its current and emerging research strengths.
• Not hold a research qualification regarded to be equivalent to an Australian Research Doctorate degree, or, if undertaking a Research Master's degree, not hold a research qualification regarded to be equivalent to or higher than an Australian Research Masters degree.
• Not have held an AusAID scholarship within two years prior to commencing the IPRS.
• Not be receiving a scholarship for which course tuition is a component under any other scholarship scheme to which the Australian Government makes a substantial contribution.
• Not previously have received an IPRS, unless the previous IPRS was for a Master by Research degree that you have completed and you are now applying for a doctorate research degree.

The University awards approximately 30 IPRS awards each year. Successful candidates will be notifed in:
– late October/early November for Semester 1 (March) commencement
– April for Semester 2 (July) commencement

In addition to the IPRS awards, commencing students may also be considered for the University of Sydney International Scholarship (USydIS). The USydIS is open to all research disciplines, however participation in the USydIS program each semester is at the discretion of the Dean of each Faculty. No application form for the USydIS is required and eligible applicants will be considered during the IPRS selection process in October/November for scholarships to commence in Semester 1 (March), and in early April for scholarships to commence in Semester 2 (July). Talentia Scholarships for Spanish or European Union Member State Nationals

Talentia Scholarships offer tuition fees and other financial assistance to Spanish nationals or nationals of a European Union Member State with a residential, educational or employment connection to the state of Andalusia, to undertake postgraduate programs at selected prestigious universities including the University of Sydney. Scholarships 2012-2013 for Courses in Design, Fashion and Communications

Instituto Europeo di Design, Madrid, Europe´s most innovative design school, launches its competition for scholarships for the following 1-year-long courses in Design, Fashion and Communications.

* One year course on Total Design

* One year course on Fashion Communication

One Year Courses taught in English run for one whole academic year as an experience across different fields of design and communication. They are designed for individuals who seek to gain their first professional skills in the areas of fashion, interior & product design, visual arts, advertising and marketing. All key subjects required for professional development of project design and culture are covered from both the theoretical and practical perspectives. One of the subjects is Spanish language, so you get to learn your chosen discipline and Spanish throughout the year. In addition, students who successfully complete these courses can opt to enrol in a two-month bridging course specific to their chosen field of study (fashion, visual arts, etc.), focused on skill acquisition and handling of tools. Course on Total Design

Make your first inroads into the professional world of design and communication with IED’s Total Design English course.

The Total Design course runs for one whole academic year as crosssectional experience across the main fields of design and communication. This course has been designed for individuals who seek to gain their first professional skills in the areas of fashion, interior & product design, visual arts, advertising and marketing. The course covers all areas from both the theoretical and practical perspectives, including all key subjects required for professional development of project design and culture. The course ends with a transversal final project commissioned by a real company. This year´s project is commissioned by SKUNKFUNK and in previous editions they have collaborated with companies like MUJI and HOSS INTROPIA. For a better understunding of Spanish language and culture, the course also includes Spanish language classes.

Course on Fashion Communication

The Fashion Communication course, taught in English, runs for one academic year, offering students extensive experience in the fields of fashion and communications. This course is designed for individuals looking to commence their education in the world of fashion, styling and communications. The subjects offered in this course cover all theoretical and practical aspects, providing the student with a professional, all-encompassing vision of culture, fashion and communications.

In addition, students who successfully complete this course can opt to enroll in a two-month bridging course, specializing in their chosen field of study (fashion and styling, creative fashion management, advertising or marketing and corporate communications), which gives them direct access to the second year of some of our 3-year degrees. This course, given in July and September, focuses on acquiring skills and handling tools relative to the specific field of design or communications chosen by the student, as well as collaborating with companies on projects.

MBA Scholarships 2012-2013 for Developing Countries

Launched in January 1999 by the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Ministère des Affaires Etrangères), the Eiffel Scholarship is designed to bolster international recruiting by French schools of higher education, at a time when competition to attract top foreign students is growing among developed countries.

HEC reserves the right to submit only those candidates it feels best qualify for the Eiffel Scholarship as the award is particularly competitive and prestigious. Note that applications from students currently studying outside France will be given priority over those from students already studying in France.

Eligibility:

The HEC MBA Program applies on behalf of admitted eligible students. In order to be eligible the candidate must be:

• Be aged 30 years old or less in the selection year
• Have a single nationality from a developing country deemed an 'emerging country' by the French state department, especially those in Asia and Latin America, for example, currently under-represented among the student population in France

Selection Criteria:

Candidates wishing to apply for the Eiffel Scholarship must write an essay, describing how the scholarship will help them achieve their long-term career goals. They should explain what they aim to achieve from the MBA program and how they will implement this in their future career. As it is offered by the French Government, candidates should address issues such as why they are studying in France.

Personal Financial Statement:

Applicants must submit a detailed description of their financial circumstances as well as a cash-flow forecast for 16-month duration at HEC.

Amount of Award:

The Eiffel Scholarship provides participants with a monthly allowance of €1,031, and covers additional expenses including travel, health insurance and cultural activities. Tuition fees are not covered by the scholarship.
